Welcome to the "New" Many Kites Press

Picture
Many Kites Press is a cooperative press working with and for authors to help make their dreams of polished self-published books a reality.  Now located in the foothills of Wyoming's beautiful Black Hills after having called Rapid City, South Dakota home for several years, Many Kites has a new hand, A. M. Hummel (Andi to her friends!), guiding the "kite" strings!

Perhaps you've finally organized those family photos and want to compile a memorable written history for your kids and grandkids, place copies in the local libraries, share with friends?  Maybe you have the makings of--or an idea for--a regional history, a community history, or a cookbook?  Are you a master gardener, a quilter, an artist, or even a woodcarver with techniques you'd like to share with others? Whatever your mind's eye is seeing, Many Kites Press stands ready to help with your publishing project.

Ownership, management, and direction have changed somewhat at Many Kites Press, but the eye for quality and author satisfaction hasn't.  We intend to uphold the standards set by Jamie and Milt Lee with the "old" Many Kites Press, and we will reserve the right to refuse manuscripts that don't--for one reason or another--fit our still rather eclectic mix. With the BIG Independent Book Publishers'  Association win (Jamie Lee and her Washaka: The Bear Dreamer walked away with the Benjamin Franklin Award for Best New Voice in Fiction for 2007!), we are looking for our next prize-winner. Will it be your book?

In 2011 Many Kites Press was taken over by Andi Hummel of Huelet, Wyoming.  She will soon be bringing her own personal flair to the press but plans to continue offering services to talented writers.  Watch for future changes as they unfold.
